Regina Huzior-Balzan, Esq.


Bio

Ms. Huzior-Balzan is an attorney and educator with 35 years of community service. She holds a JD from Brooklyn Law and an MS in education and BA in economics from Queens College. She practices in New York and Florida. She also is a licensed Florida Real Estate Associate. Ms. Huzior-Balzan taught public school in both states, and was an adjunct professor in Miami teaching ethics, constitutional, civil and criminal law, and English. In addition, she served as lead faculty for a paralegal program, and assisted students with immigration services.

Early in her career, Ms. Huzior-Balzan served in the US Army as a JAG officer and as an attorney for the New York City. She has spent all her career providing community service including legal services with Community Legal Services of Mid-Florida and Dade Legal Aid. While in Miami, Regina served six years on the Educational Excellence School Advisory Council (EESAC) for Miami-Dade Public Schools. Her other services included Justice Teaching with the Florida Bar, Secretary of the Flagler Bar, volunteer court-appointed guardian ad litem, teacher with Volusia Literacy Project facilitating GED classes for inmates at the county jail.

She has been married over 30 years to her husband Robert Balzan, who spent 45 years in military and government service. Their son, Jeremy, was a Navy airman who is now in law enforcement. Their daughter, Rebecca, recently commissioned as an officer in the US Army. Regina states that her passions for family, the law, and education are the impetus for the service.
